Anthony Sinisuka Ginting is an Indonesian badminton player who first made headlines by clinching bronze at the Asian Games 2018. This bronze added to his Youth Olympic bronze which he achieved in 2014. His 2020 Olympic performance got him a bronze in men’s singles, making him the first to win medals in both Youth Olympic and Olympic Games in badminton. Born in Cimahi, Ginting comes from a Karo family. He was introduced to badminton by his father and began participating in local competitions at age 9. His early training at PB SGS PLN in Bandung laid the foundation for his future successes. In 2022, Ginting finished as the runner-up at the World Tour Finals, losing against Axelsen by 13–21, 14–21. He claimed his first Asian Championships title in 2022 against Loh Kean Yew in straight games which marked Indonesia’s first men’s singles title in 16 years. He later went on to win the Singapore Open 2023, a BWF World Super 750 title, defeating Anders Antonsen, and made it to the final of the Indonesia Open, competing against Viktor Axelsen.
