Fredrick Lee Kerley, popularly known as Fred Kerley, is a track and field sprinter from the United States who began his athletic career in the 400 meters. In 2020, he switched to the 100 and 200 meters. He has won numerous medals at the World Championships in the 400-meter run and the 4×400-meter relay, including a gold medal for the relay in 2019 and a bronze for the individual. At the World Championships 2022, Kerley won the 100 meter gold medal. Alongside Michael Norman and Wayde van Niekerk, Kerley is one of only three men to run the 100-meter, 200-meter, and 400-meter races in under 10 seconds, 20 seconds, and 44 seconds, respectively.
American sprinter Fred Kerley started his athletic journey as a 200 meter runner in high school before becoming well-known for winning the 400-meter event both indoors and outdoors at the NCAA championships in 2017. Only after winning the indoor and outdoor NCAA championships, he began competing in the 400 metre event in college. He added the gold in the 400 metre relay and the bronze in the 400-meter at the 2019 World Championships in Doha to the silver which he won in Londonin 2017. In 2021, he became the first athlete to win the 100, 200, and 400 meter Diamond League events. Surprisingly, he also took home the silver medal in the 100-meter race at Tokyo 2020.
