Tata Mumbai Marathon to be held after a two-year hiatus

The 18th edition of the Tata Mumbai Marathon (TMM) will take place in the upcoming year on January 15.

The 18th edition of the Tata Mumbai Marathon (TMM) will take place in the upcoming year on January 15. The event will resume its custom of being conducted on the third Sunday of the New Year. Regarded as one of the World Athletics elite label road race, the registration will begin on August 11. For the full marathon race, it will be open at 7:00 am from Aug 11 and closed on Nov 30. While the registration process for half marathon racers will start at 7:00 am on Aug 20 and will end on Sept 30. According to the timing presented on certificates, entries will be registered based on the fastest runners (half). A certain number of spots are allocated for women in both full and half categories to ensure more participation. The Open 10K is especially for the charity whose registrations are open from August 26 to Sept 30.

The physical race will be flagged off from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). There are also categories for the Senior citizens and Champions with Disability whose registration opens on Aug 26 at 7:00 am and closes on Oct 29. Candidates who won’t be able to participate physically can enjoy a real-life experience through the TMM app. The virtual race categories include Marathon, Half marathon, 10 km, and Dream Run (5 km). The participants can sign up from Aug 11 to Jan 2, 2023. IDFC Bank will act as an associate sponsor after they signed up for the associate sponsor position for Procam International’s four events and made their debut at TCS World 10K marathon in Bengaluru in May.

The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde said, “The much-awaited marathon returns after two years. Today the event is one of the top 10 marathons in the world and that is a big achievement. It is a pride of Mumbai and India that brings our community together across all ages, caste, creed to run as one. We extend our support to the event and we are with you.” “As a chief patron of the Tata Mumbai Marathon, I now announce the registrations for the 18th edition of the event have begun. We extend our support to the event and we are with you,” he added.
