A look at the History

The UK Athletics Championships, the track and field championship representing the UK, are yearly held at venues hosted by the British Athletics Federation. The competition included the Olympic trials for the British Olympic team from 1980. The UK Athletics Championships’ edition first started in 1977. However, only British competitors could participate. The AAA Championships, which were conducted by an English amateur organization and were accessible to contestants from other nations, were replaced by this competition. The British Athletics Federation has been replaced with a government-led organization known as the UK Athletics. The competitions are the UK’s top national championship for track and field competitions.
