The 2022 edition of the Bogota International Half Marathon, commonly known as the Media Maraton de Bogota will be held on October 2, 2022, in Bogota, Colombia. The race is an annual road running competition over a half marathon distance of 21.0975 kilometers. Since its inception in 2000, the tournament has had both popular (or recreational) and elite half marathon divisions. A number of well-known athletes have competed in the elite race, including 2005 World Half Marathon champion Fabiano Joseph, two-time Saint Silvester Road Race champion James Kwambai, Olympic medalist Joyce Chepchumba, and former champion and world record holder Catherine Ndereba.

The starting point for both the marathons is from Simon Bolivar Park in Bogota.

Media Maraton de Bogota 2022, World Athletics Label Road Race: Race Course

The race will begin in the Plaza de Eventos (Events Plaza) of the Parque Simón Bolívar, with the starting line on the west side of Carrera 60, in front of the park’s central parking area. Runners will take Carrera 60 south until Calle 53 , where the race will turn east until Carrera 24, where the race will turn south until Calle 45, when the course joins the Parkway until Carrera 19 where the track will continue southward before linking with Calle 32.

The course travels west from Calle 32 until it reaches Avenida 28, at which point it bends south to meet Calle 26. The race begins on Calle 26 and travels east to Carrera 13B before turning north on Calle 26A and again at Carrera 13A. From Calle 33, the race goes east to Carrera 13 and then north to Calle 34 before heading east to Carrera 7 from Carrera 7.

The route stays on Carrera 7 until Calle 72, at which point it turns to the west and goes on until it reaches Carrera 15. Runners travel north on Carrera 15 toward Calle 90, where they take a brief diversion via Carrera 13a to reach Calle 92. The race proceeds south from Calle 92 to the entrance ramp for the NQS highway. After that, the path runs west to Carrera 50, south to Calle 68, north to Carrera 60, south to Calle 67B, and finally west to Avenida 68. From here, the runners use the road to the Calle 63 junction, where they remain on the road as it arcs to the east and leads to the Parque Simón Bolivar’s main entrance.
