Generali Munich Marathon 2022, World Athletics Elite Label Road Race: LIVE Streaming, When and Where to Watch, Schedule

The Generali Munich Marathon, also known as the Generali Munchen Marathon (in German), is scheduled to take place on October 9, 2022. Since 1983, the German city of Munich has held the road running marathon event which normally takes place in October. A full marathon (42.195 km), half marathon (26.219 mi), and 10K race are all part of the event. Michael Kite of Kenya (2:09:46 in 2000) and Karolina Szabó of Hungary (2:33:09 hours in 1991) hold the course records for the city’s marathons overall.

The path leads from the Olympic Park to Leopoldstraße with the Victory Gate, then to the English Garden via Königsplatz and the Pinakotheken. It travels from there through the east of Munich, past the Chinese Tower and the Bogenhausen Art Nouveau villas, and over the Isar Bridge near to the Deutschen Museum. It is off from Marienplatz to the new route highlight for 2022, the Viktualienmarkt. The participants then have to travel straight to Odeonsplatz via the Bavarian State Opera and the Residenz. The final sprint returns to the Olympic Stadium via the Theatinerkirche over Ludwigstraße.
