The 35th edition of the Lisbon Marathon 2022 is scheduled to be held on 9th of October, 2022 in Lisbon, Portugal. The road running marathon was established in 1986. Andualem Shiferaw (2:05:52) in 2021 and Sarah Chepchirchir (2:24:13) in 2016 are the current record holders of the marathon in men’s and women’s category. Both the marathon and the half marathon are recognized by the World Athletics organization. The two races include a Finish Line Concert and live music along the course.

The EDP Marathon track, which begins in Av. República, Cascais and ends at Praça do Comércio, is entirely along the river and sea, giving competitors a spectacular sight throughout the race. The EDP Lisbon Marathon is a World Athletics, formerly known as Athletics Federation (IAAF), sanctioned competition.

Start time – 8:00 am
The Lisbon Luso Half Marathon is one of the most popular events in Portugal. The Vasco de Gama Bridge serves as the starting point for the 21 km route, while Praça do Comercio, a historical landmark of Lisbon’s city center in front of the Tagus, serves as the finish line. The EDP Lisbon Marathon and Luso Half Marathon are both contested on the same day.

Cut-off time – 3 hours
Start time – 10:30 am
The race begins on the renowned Vasco da Gama bridge and concludes in the Parque das Naçes. The start time and location are the same as the Luso Half Marathon, and competitors can enjoy a spectacular view throughout the course. The short route, numerous animations, and amusing competitors make the EDP Mini Marathon very appealing.
