WWE Legend and Hall of Famer, Bill Goldberg has been out of the ring for quite some time now. Goldberg’s contract expired in 2022 and he last competed in WWE Elimination Chamber. Recent Goldberg said that he expressed his thoughts on a potential retirement match. AEW has been in touch with not only Goldberg but as well as Sting according to some news circulating online.

Tony Khan addressing media after AEW Double or Nothing

While addressing the reporters after the AEW Double or Nothing, one reporter asked Tony about his conversation and views on Goldberg’s career. Tony replied saying he had a great conversation with the WWE Legend Goldberg.

“Yeah, yeah I have,” Khan said. “I have talked to Bill. It wouldn’t be that unusual. I’ve talked to Bill when he’s not been under contract at times, and have a good relationship with Bill. So I have had a good conversation with him, but I’ve had a lot of great conversations with Bill. Bill’s family has done a lot of great things in Jacksonville. He’s related to the Wolfson family, who built the Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville.

Although Tony didn’t specify the talk they had. Many people are speculating that AEW is planning something big for Goldberg to bring him over to AEW. As Goldberg’s contract expired with WWE last year and he is still in great shape. Tony also said he had worked in the Football field and he respect what he had done there.

“Bill’s a great former football star, and I work in football, and it’s a big part of my life, so we have a lot in common, and we have a lot of mutual friends, and I have a really good relationship with Bill. So I like him a lot. As to what I’ve talked to him about, I would say that’s just between the two of us. But yeah, I have, and it was a good chat. I like Bill a lot, he’s a great guy.” This news is from WrestleZone(h/t WrestleZone).

We can’t come to any conclusion right now, about whether Goldberg will work with AEW or not. As Goldberg recently said on 93.7 The Ticket, “I’ll stop the rumor mill right now. The reason for these rumors is because Vince McMahon and I had a handshake understanding that after the Roman Reigns match, I would have a proper retirement match,” Goldberg said. “That hasn’t come to fruition to them, therefore… You know, nobody puts a stamp on my career. Nobody tells me when I’m done, period, end of story.”

There’s no confirmed news that Goldberg gonna retire soon or whether he will continue to wrestle. What are your thoughts on this?
