Many were confused when WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry decided to leave the company and join All Elite Wrestling. Although Henry had a clear goal in mind, he was no longer in a position to mentor up-and-coming WWE stars.

In addition to his minor on-screen responsibilities, this would position him as a key mentor in AEW. Hobbs, the previous TNT Champion Powerhouse, has grown to rely heavily on Henry’s assistance.

Superstar Hobbs Describes His Friendship With The Iconic Mark Henry

Hobbs gushed about Mark Henry’s assistance to him on the McGuire on Wrestling podcast, saying the following about the WWE legend.

“That’s my wrestling dad. He gets on me when I need it. It doesn’t even have to be about the good things, that doesn’t matter, but things that need to be fixed. Things that are going to take me to the next level. Things that I need to do to transition better. ‘This works, look at that camera even longer, do your snarl here, turn that red light on when you need to but turn it off when you need to.’ He treats me just like his children. It’s a blessing to have him. I go to him for things outside of the ring. Someone who is willing to go the extra mile for you if you’re willing to put in the work.”

The year 2023 is shaping up to be Hobbs’ best yet

In the second part of 2023, formidable Hobbs will rise to prominence. He has been on the rise, having recently won the TNT Championship and the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match. Recently, Hobbs had a change of heart and began to verbally assault QT Marshall, his boss.

Hobbs now has the opportunity to compete with a seasoned pro in light of Marshall’s new alliance with WWE legend John Morrison (aka Johnny TV).

This will cement his status as a babyface actor. Since joining AEW, Hobbs has gained a lot of fans. Mark Henry and others have helped him tremendously, and now he’s eager to make a name for himself.
