Kevin Sullivan, who used to be in WCW, has chosen the AEW wrestler who should face CM Punk at the next All-In show in London. Sullivan said on his show, “Tuesdays with the Taskmaster,” that he didn’t totally agree with Bully Ray’s recent comments about AEW’s All In card, in which he said that Tony Khan and the rest of the team shouldn’t announce any matches for the August 27 event. Sullivan said it was a good idea, but he thought AEW should announce the big event of the show, which he thinks should be “Hangman” Adam Page vs. CM Punk.
“I love Bully [Ray] as a person, he’s a hell of a guy, he’s very smart, and probably doesn’t get his due. I love the idea, but I don’t agree with it completely,” said Sullivan. “You can do what he said, except for the main event. Do you know what the main event is? Punk versus Hangman. They’ll fall off the rafters. Punk is such a good worker, and if Hangman goes with him, the people will go crazy.”
Adam Page and CM Punk haven’t been in the ring together since AEW Double Or Nothing on May 29, 2022. Punk beat Page for the AEW World Championship at that event. There were problems between them backstage in the past, like when Punk “went off” the script and called Page out on the August 17, 2022 show of “AEW Dynamite.”
He also said bad things about him in his famous speech after the All Out show and in an interview with “ESPN” in September 2022.
Sullivan has been in real fights with other wrestlers, some of which have been shown on TV. The former WCW star had his own problems with Chris Benoit, which WCW used to tell a story. Nancy Benoit was first married to Sullivan. In 1997, she had a relationship on-screen with Benoit, which turned into a relationship in real life.
