The AEW Collision’s announce team gained significant attention since its debut on June 17th. Furthermore, it appears that a WWE Hall of Famer will make a comeback to the company on Saturday nights.
Jim Ross, one of wrestling’s greatest announcers in history, unfortunately missed almost all of AEW Collision’s events. He took a bad fall prior to the premiere episode, which forced him to be absent except for one event.
After his debut on June 17th, Jim Ross decided to step back from the spotlight and focus on returning to full strength. Instead of joining broadcast colleagues Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness during Collision main events as originally planned.
During a recent episode of the “Grilling JR” podcast, it appeared that JR might be considering a comeback. The Hall of Famer openly acknowledged his ongoing discussions with Tony Khan regarding a potential return to the business.
“Tony Khan and I have talked about what I’m going to do going forward, and it looks like I’ll have a shot at getting back on Collision on Saturdays. That seems to be my destination, but that could change. I just know that it’s going to be a huge lifestyle change for me because those shows are live on Saturday nights.”
The improved version maintains a clear and objective tone while JR acknowledged that working on Saturdays would greatly strain his personal life since he won’t be able to watch or attend any Oklahoma Sooners football games. However, despite this sacrifice, the venerable announcer is still overjoy
“I actually think Collision fits my skill set. If I could have called that CM Punk – Samoa Joe match, I’d have been happy as a three-peckered goat.” [H/T Wrestling Inc]
