The main event of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023 was a contest that many wrestling fans had been hoping for. Two guys who claim to be the finest professional wrestler in the world—AEW’s Bryan Danielson and NJPW’s Kazuchika Okada—would square off in a match.

The ensuing thirty minutes of fighting were savage, as Bryan Danielson emerged victorious but with a broken arm. Okada experienced the wrath Danielson had to offer and won’t hurry into a rematch with him despite his desire to win.

Although Kazuchika Okada would enjoy breaking Danielson’s arm again, he has no immediate desire to do it

Kazuchika Okada, when chatting with Tokyo Sports, discussed his most recent main event encounter, in which he defeated Danielson.

“I was the last to enter the ring, but I felt like AEW had taken me over. Bryan came out of nowhere for the ‘Final Countdown,’ and I thought he took the air with him. I felt that I had experienced American wrestling this time. I don’t think it’s right for me to play the card that everyone was excited about so much, and to play it again. I don’t want to get there easily. But if there is a time to return the favor, I’d like to win even if I have to break one or two more arms firmly. I hope I can do it at the right time.”

Okada gearing up for G1 Climax

Okada is currently getting ready for the G1 Climax, a month-long round robin competition. He is favored to win the B-Block and will likely face off against the A-Block’s top seed, Kaito Kiyomiya, in the semi-finals.

Over the course of the tournament, Okada will face YOSHI-HASHI, Taichi, KENTA, Will Ospreay, Great-O-Khan, El Phantasmo, and Tanga Loa.

Since Danielson has shown interest in returning to the Tokyo Dome, it seems natural that their next match, should it take place, would take place at Wrestle Kingdom in January 2024.

The fact that despite Danielson’s injury, their debut bout was still one of the finest in June is a testament to the team’s potential. Your prediction on who would triumph in a rematch.
