Jim Ross provided an update on his health on his Grilling JR podcast after suffering a fall last month. Ross was injured on the same day as the first episode of AEW’s Collision. Despite his injuries, Ross traveled to Chicago to participate in the Collision broadcast. He provided commentary for the main event, which pitted CM Punk and FTR against Samoa Joe, Jay White, and Juice Robinson. Ross suffered with a raspy voice throughout the contest.
Following the Collision episode, Ross apologized for his tone and indicated that he would take a break to recuperate. On Grilling JR, Ross stated that the fall occurred when he stumbled over his CPAP (machine used to help with sleep apnea) cord while going to the toilet in the middle of the night. After stumbling, he landed face-first against his end table.
Ross believes he received a concussion during the fall. Following his fall, he had headaches, unsteadiness, and blurred vision. Ross said that getting on the plane and flying to Collision was a mistake. He felt he was doing the right thing for the firm, the fans, and himself, but he was incorrect. Ross stated he’s feeling okay right now and believes he’s getting better by the day.
Ross considers himself fortunate to have awoken after the fall and not bled out. When he awoke, he noticed a lot of blood on his pillowcase. Ross stated that he does not know when he would return to the road, but he will be back in AEW. He also expressed gratitude to Tony Khan for his patience and encouragement of his excellent health.
He said, “But as far as going back on the road, I don’t have a return date. Tony Khan’s been very nice as far as, ‘Take all the time you need, and if you want to take several weeks off or the summer off, or whatever you’d like to do, just get healthy.’ So I appreciate the fact that he’s being patient with me and that he is encouraging my good health because that’s really the main thing, and it gives us all an eye-opener. There’s nothing more important than our health.” H/T – WrestlingObserver
