Fans like MJF and Adam Cole more than FTR

When MJF and Adam Cole were put together as a tag team, it didn’t seem like it would work out very well, given that they were two different acts and that Adam Cole wanted MJF’s title. But it turns out that the two of them make a great comedy team, and fans quickly took to their shenanigans.

We just found out that even though the shirt just came out a few weeks ago, it has sold better than any AEW shirt this year.

They’re being treated like two big stars, so it makes sense that they’re being put up against FTR for the tag team belts. That’s the same FTR, who are well-liked villains and had one of the best matches in AEW history against Bullet Club Gold last week, a 2-out-of-3 Falls classic.

Even though the crowd still likes Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood, they had a hard time getting through their spot on AEW Collision this week because they were screaming for MJF and Adam Cole:

Overall, they did a good job, and Harwood in particular made the best of a bad situation. They also have a good way to tell their side of the story, which is that MJF and Cole are too much of a comedy act and that they are serious about winning their title.

It seems likely that FTR will try to keep their titles here, but given how well Better Than You Bay Bay has done, it might be worth thinking about a surprise. Next week, we’ll find out.
