Garcia recently expressed on “Busted Open Radio” that she initially felt typecasted when she joined AEW. She believed she was labeled as a ‘technical wrestler,’ which often results in being perceived as boring. However, being part of the Jericho Appreciation Society alongside [Chris] Jericho allowed her to showcase different dimensions and abilities as a performer, for which she is truly grateful.
Garcia asserted that he had always been aware of his potential to become the accomplished TV personality he is today. The AEW actor firmly believes that if he had revealed this facet of himself too early. It would have pigeonholed him into a character at the opposite extreme. He feared being typecast as merely an entertainer capable only of bizarre things.
The former ROH Pure Champion explains that as he gained recognition for his technical wrestling abilities. He gradually infused more of his unique personality into his performances. This allowed him to generate captivating surprises for the audience.
