The World Wrestling Championships 2023 is scheduled to be held between September 16 and September 24, taking place at Belgrade’s famed Štark Arena in Serbia. This key event offers athletes an opportunity to secure one of the 90 quota spots available for the Summer Olympic Games 2024 in Paris. Additionally, any country that took part in this year’s continental wrestling tournaments is qualified to join the lineup in the World Wrestling Championships 2023.

Soviet Union (415) is the most dominant nation in the history of the World Wrestling Championships, having collected 253 gold, 93 silver, and 69 gold medals. Meanwhile, Japan and Russia currently stand as the second and third most successful countries, winning 129 and 111 gold medals respectively. India is 43rd in the list of most accomplished nations, with 1 gold, 5 silver, and 16 bronze medals.
