the venue was changed to Amman, Jordan. From August 14 to 20, US wrestling fans can catch all the action live on FloWrestling.
From August 14–20, 2023, Amman, Jordan will host the World Wrestling Championships. The United World Wrestling (UWW)-hosted World Junior Wrestling Championships (U20) is the premier wrestling event for junior wrestlers (those between the ages of 18 and 20). In 1979 and 1980, this event was repeated twice. The U20 World Championships will take place in Amman, Jordan, a week after the U17 World Championships in Istanbul, Turkey, was completed by the best wrestlers in that age division. There will be 672 wrestlers competing in three different styles in the Jordanian capital, which hosted the U15 and U20 Asian Championships in July. The competition will begin on August 14 with freestyle. Women’s and Greco-Roman wrestling will come after freestyle wrestling. Iran will once again be the favorite to win the team title in freestyle since it has a number of wrestlers, notably Amirreza Masoumi (IRI), the defending champion at 125 kg.
The United States, which came in second last year, will send Luke Lilledahl, Meyer Shapiro, Mitchell Mesenbrink, and Bennett BERGE in an attempt to shock Iran this time. 187 women will be wrestling at the U20 World Championships in Amman next week. There will be 663 wrestlers competing. But ten female wrestlers, who are predicted to not just win a medal but gold, would be idolized by wrestling fans all over the world. The U20 World Championships will see Japan defend their team championship, which it has won 10 times out of 11. Japan lost only when it skipped the competition in 2021 because of the COVID-19 epidemic. Eight gold and two bronze medals were won by Japan last year, and two of the eight gold medalists, Moe Kiyoka and Ayano Moro, are coming back to defend their championships.
