In a different competition, Katzberg won in a Diamond League promotional event by throwing the javelin 77.93 meters. He beat out famous athletes like Rudy Winkler and Brooke Andersen.

Katzberg, alongside Camryn Rogers, claimed the world titles in the men’s and women’s hammer throw, respectively, in August. Furthermore, Sarah Mitton won silver in the women’s shot put in Budapest, Hungary. Katzberg holds the distinction of being the first Canadian male hammer throw world champion, while Rogers is the first Canadian woman to achieve this honor in her category. Furthermore, Mitton became the initial Canadian female to earn a shot put medal at the World Championships. Nike has enlisted Katzberg to serve as their brand ambassador.
