Paddy Pimblett will reportedly aid UFC middleweight Paulo Costa in making the 185-pound weight restriction. Paulo Costa’s future in the middleweight division was called into doubt when he missed weight in his most recent fight against Marvin Vettori at UFC Fight Night 196. Following the weigh-ins, UFC president Dana White declared that Costa would no longer be allowed to compete at 185 pounds. Paddy Pimblett may have a good chance at restricting Costa to get in his weight.

Costa will be given another chance in the class despite weighing in at 204.5 pounds, which is nearly 20 pounds over the weight restriction. In his comeback to combat, the 31-year-old is set to face former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold. Paddy Pimblett, who balloons to huge dimensions during his time off between fights, is another boxer who supporters feel has a hard weight reduction. After getting scheduled for his next bout on the UFC London show, ‘The Baddy’ will begin training. Following the news of Pimblett’s upcoming fight, Paulo Costa rushed to Twitter to ask for aid with his weight loss from the Scouser.

“Bro July 23? help me to make weight like that.

“Or let’s miss weight together bro in July 23 eating some cakes candys as a protest against the system ! What do u think?”

Costa’s plea was met with a good response from Pimblett, who invited the Brazilian to join him in Liverpool. “Get over to Liverpool big man, we get you down to 185 in no time chesty”

Paulo Costa vs. Luke Rockhold

The feud between Paulo Costa and Luke Rockhold will have to wait a bit longer to be resolved. The middleweight contenders will now “most likely” fight on Aug. 20 at a UFC event with a location yet to be chosen, according to sources with knowledge of the move. They were initially set to meet at UFC 277 on July 30. Although the reason for the move is unknown, Rockhold (16-5) previously told The Schmo that Costa’s team was trying to postpone the bout.

Rockhold hasn’t fought since a knockout loss to Jan Blachowicz in a light heavyweight contest in July of this year. Three of his last four fights have ended in defeat for the former UFC and Strikeforce middleweight champion. Costa (13-2) has lost back-to-back games to Marvin Vettori and Israel Adesanya. He won his first five UFC fights before losing to Adesanya at UFC 253 in a middleweight title battle.
