Robert Whittaker is confident that he will be able to defeat Israel Adesanya in a potential third fight. Whittaker lost his middleweight belt to Adesanya in 2019, but he has since bounced back with two impressive wins.

In an interview with Michael Bisping, Whittaker said that he has learned a lot from his two fights with Adesanya. “Every fight I level up, I show a new level, a new aspect of my game,” Whittaker said. “And that’s because of what he presented to me. He showed me my holes, he made me work on them. I went into that second fight, and then I took my confidence back.”

Whittaker: ‘I’m a Different Fighter Now’

Whittaker was knocked out by Adesanya at UFC 243, and as a result, he lost the middleweight title. However, in their rematch at UFC 271, Whittaker performed considerably better. He was considerably more competitive and showed that he had improved from the previous fight, even if he lost that one by decision.

Whittaker believes that he is now a better fighter than he was when he first fought Adesanya. “This third fight with him is going to be a combination of everything put together,” Whittaker said. “He made me this, and he’s gonna regret it.”
Whittaker will face Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 290 on February 11, 2023. If he wins that fight, he will likely get a third shot at Adesanya. Whittaker is confident that he will be victorious in that fight, and he is determined to finally get his revenge on Adesanya

Whittaker is confident that he will be victorious in that fight, and he is determined to finally get his revenge on Adesanya. “I’m just gonna keep leveling up,” Whittaker said. “I’m gonna keep getting better. And when I get my opportunity, I’m gonna take it.”
