Dan Hooker emerges victorious in a fierce showdown against Jalin Turner at UFC 290, securing a hard-earned split decision triumph at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. However, the battle took a toll on Hooker as he suffered a broken right arm during the intense clash. Taking to Twitter the following morning, Hooker shares an X-ray image, shedding light on the extent of his injury incurred during the thrilling bout.

UFC 290 delivered an unforgettable lineup that left fans astounded by its sheer intensity. From a jaw-dropping one-punch knockout in the early prelims to a merciless 20-second knockout and a lightning-fast 38-second knockout, the event showcased an unparalleled level of brutality. Furthermore, the night witnessed Robbie Lawler’s retirement, adding an emotional element to the already electrifying atmosphere.

Hooker came back from adversity

In a moment that appeared to tilt the scales in Turner’s favor, his devastating head kick suggested an impending victory. Yet, defying the odds, Hooker retaliated with a relentless barrage of strikes that ultimately propelled him to triumph. As the final horn sounded, two judges awarded the fight to Hooker with a score of 29-28, while the third official concurred, cementing Turner’s commendable performance with the same 29-28 score.

After a four-month delay caused by Hooker’s hand injury, the highly anticipated matchup finally took place, marking his first fight since November and his 13th UFC victory. The long-awaited return turned out to be well worth the wait. ESPN’s cameras captured the intense concentration and elation of Hooker’s teammate, Alex Volkanovski, who jubilantly celebrated the win from the locker rooms. Shortly after, Volkanovski himself secured a third-round TKO triumph, successfully defending his featherweight title.

Israel Adesanya excited for the win

The victory had Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya visibly brimming with excitement. His attention now turns to headlining an eagerly anticipated match against Dricus Du Plessis, who secured a second-round TKO victory over former champion Robert Whittaker later that same Saturday night.

In a heated confrontation inside the Octagon on Saturday, Du Plessis found himself face-to-face with Adesanya. As anticipation builds for their eventual showdown at UFC 293 in September, the timing for Hooker’s return to the cage remains uncertain, as his recovery and readiness are yet to be determined.
