Conor McGregor is currently experiencing a challenging period on The Ultimate Fighter, and new footage has raised uncertainties among UFC fans regarding his forthcoming comeback fight. Following his defeat to Dustin Poirier, which resulted in a leg injury, ‘The Notorious’ has yet to step back into the octagon. Nonetheless, he had intentions to make a comeback this year with a fight against Michael Chandler.

Notably, McGregor has recently completed filming the latest season of the UFC’s coaching-centric television series, which has been airing over the past month. Moreover, in addition to the lackluster performances displayed by his fighters, McGregor himself has exhibited concerning indications that his career may be approaching its conclusion.

Conor McGregor’s return to the octagon uncertain

McGregor’s comeback has been shrouded in uncertainty as he has yet to enroll in the USADA drug testing pool. According to UFC regulations, fighters must be enrolled in the program for a minimum of six months before they can compete. McGregor had previously been part of the testing pool but left it after suffering his leg break, raising questions about his eligibility for upcoming fights.

Despite initial expectations of a December showdown in Las Vegas, the exact date for their anticipated return fight remains uncertain. While the promotion had tentatively marked a date, Michael Chandler remains optimistic that the highly anticipated bout between him and Conor McGregor will eventually come to fruition, albeit at a later point in time.

“As far as I’m concerned, the fight against Conor [McGregor] is still happening. Maybe it doesn’t happen by the end of this year, which it still might. But if not, it’s going to be [the] first quarter of next year,” Chandler said.

Conor McGregor fans worried for him after new footage surfaces

In the series’ most recent episode, fresh footage has been unveiled, featuring McGregor engaging in training sessions with Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson.

McGregor’s behavior towards coaching has sparked concerns among fans, as he responded peculiarly and unusually when questioned about his approach to coaching by Thompson.

He can be seen in the footage saying: “Are you coaching with me today?” To which McGregor replied: “That’s tonight, that’s perfect. Yeah, okay we will do it.”

Nevertheless, the footage captures a moment where McGregor seemingly attempts to evade Thompson, almost as if he was attempting to distance himself. However, his movement was eventually intercepted, and he reluctantly changed direction, maintaining a cautious distance from Thompson.
