When F1 Sprint first debuted in 2021, qualifying was moved to Friday and used to set the grid for a brand-new 100-kilometer race.
After his qualifying woes on Friday – which marked the first time neither Mercedes made Q3 since 2012 – Hamilton was left dejected, and the sprint did not help.
The grid for Sunday's Grand Prix will be determined by Saturday's race, with more points awarded to the top finishers.
Following a review of the three Sprint races last year, the FIA decided to keep the same number for 2022
The points system has been changed, with the top eight drivers now receiving points instead of just the top three finishers previously.
