Ryan Fitzgerald Murphy is a competitive swimmer who represents the United States in backstroke discipline. He is a four-time Olympic gold medalist and the former world-record holder in the men’s 100-meter backstroke. He has won four Olympic golds and five World championships gold medals each in both long course and short course to date. Bridget Konttinen competed in rowing both in high school and college. According to the Marin Independent Journal, Konttinen won a U.S. Rowing Youth National Championship in 2013, the year she graduated from high school. She raced for the women’s varsity rowing team of the Marin Rowing Association. In 2013, she was also named the Marin’s Rowing female athlete of the year. From 2013 until 2017, Konttinen represented Berkeley in competitions. Her rowing team placed second at the Pac-12 Championships during her sophomore year.
Konttinen earned her degree in May 2017. While attending college, Konttinen worked as an intern at Nike. She worked in the department of international basketball’s retail operations. After graduating from UC Berkeley, she was able to secure a full-time position with the athletic company because to that experience. In January 2018, she was appointed to the position of Creative Coordinator for “Global Brand Experience.” Konttinen was promoted to Production Coordinator for the Global Brand Creative unit after about a year in that post. Her employment required her to travel internationally to work on photo shoots.
Konttinen and Ryan Murphy both attended the University of California, Berkeley and were students in the Haas School of Business. According to their Instagram pages, she and Murphy have been dating since late 2016 and have been together for more than five years now. On December 12, 2016, she shared a picture of both in which she stated that it was their first kiss, thus making it official. On May 15, 2022, Murphy posted a group pictures on Instagram which indicated that they are now engaged.
