The Senior National Aquatics Championships 2022 took place at Dr. Zakir Hussain Aquatic Complex in Guwahati, Assam from September 6 to 10, 2022. Karnataka extended their dominance emerging as the overall winners, accumulating 250 points in the 75th iteration of the tournament. Tokyo Olympian Maana Patel claimed the women’s category, finishing her campaign on a high with three gold, one bronze, and one NMR. Khelo India University Games (KIUG) star swimmer Siva Sridhar won the best male swimmer award, aggregating three gold, one silver, and a new meet record (NMR). Chahat Arora broke the women’s 100m breaststroke NR twice to win the title. She set new National records (NRs) first in the heats (14.38 secs, previous record 14.87 by Saloni Dalal) and then in the final (13.61 secs, bettered her own NR). On Thursday, 14-year-old AK Linyesha set a new championship record of 2:39.38 in the women’s 200m Breaststroke. (previous one by Saloni Dalal 2:41.88)

100m breaststroke: 1. Likith SP (SSCB) 1:02.54, 2. Danush Suresh (TN) 1:03.71, 3. Anoop Augustine (RSPB) 1:04.74.

Women: 

800m freestyle: 1. Bhavya Sachdeva (Del) 9:17.25, 2. Vritti Agarwal (Tel) 9:24.25, 3. Richa Mishra (Pol) 9:30.78

100m backstroke: 1. Maana Patel (Guj) 1:04.33, 2. Soubrity Mondal (Ben) 1:07.01, 3. Palak Joshi (Mah) 1:07.96.

200m butterfly: 1. Astha Choudhury (Asm) 2:22.59, 2. Kanya Nayyar (MP) 2:24.37, 3. Vritti Agarwal (Tel) 2:24.48.

100m breaststroke: 1. Chahat Arora (Pun) 1:13.61 (NMR, OR: Chahat Arora 1:14.38, Guwahati, 2022). 2. Jyoti Patil (Mah) 1:16.33, 3. Manavi Varma (Kar) 1:16.99.
