Robert Milkins emerged victorious in a closely contested group, securing his spot in Stage Three of Championship League Snooker. The reigning Welsh Open champion, who now holds the 13th position in the world rankings, edged past Si Jiahui and John Astley to top Group H by a single point. Milkins began his campaign with a strong 3-0 victory over John Astley at the Morningside Arena. In his next fixture, he faced off against Si, the talented rising star who had defeated him in this year’s World Championship’s second round. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, leaving both players tied with four points at the top of the round-robin table.

The group’s outcome was to be decided in the final games. Ultimately, Si’s defeat to John Astley provided the opportunity for Milkins to advance at the young Chinese competitor’s expense, securing a 2-2 tie against Pang Junxu. Group C also witnessed fierce competition, with three of the four contenders vying for a spot in the next stage. Noppon Saengkham’s fate was in his own hands after a 3-0 victory over Liu Hongyu and a 2-2 draw against Daniel Wells. To secure his place in the last eight of the competition, the 31-year-old Thai player needed a victory over Ashley Carty, which he achieved with a convincing 3-1 triumph.
