The Youth Winter Olympics 2024 organizing committee on Monday announced the slogan for the Gangwon Youth Olympic Games 2024. The slogan read, “Grow together, shine forever.” It was unveiled to the public on the 500 days-to-go mark of the countdown to the Games. Through its message of optimism for the future, the phrase communicates the key concepts of ‘growth, coexistence, harmony, and future.’ The phrase was chosen based on comments from a varied group of people of different genders, ages, and countries of residence.
The revelation of the Youth Winter Olympics 2024 slogan got delayed due to the typhoon alert by South Korea. More than 10 people died as a result of the cyclonic storm, Typhoon Hinnamnor, which brought devastating winds and heavy rainfall. Seven people drowned in an underground car park in Pohang city.
The Winter Youth Olympic Games will take place between January 19 to February 1, 2024, in Gangwon Province, South Korea. Gangwon 2024 aspires to provide extraordinary possibilities for young people to progress not just via sport, but also through education at all levels of the Games’ preparations while disseminating Olympic values. Around 1900 athletes from 81 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) will be competing in this edition of the Games. The last edition of the Winter YOG was held in January in the city of Lausanne in Switzerland. Russia (29) emerged as the champion with ten gold medals. Switzerland (24) and Japan (17) took the second and third spots respectively.
