Sushil Kumar shifted to Tihar from Mandoli Jail after threat to security?

Sushil Kumar and his associates are accused of abducting Sagar from his house in Model Town.

Sushil Kumar was arrested in the alleged murder of wrestler Sagar Dhankar at Chhatrasal Stadium. He is shifted to Tihar jail. The wrestler was earlier in Mandoli jail. Sushil and his associate Ajay were arrested by Special Cell, Delhi Police on May 23 in the Mundka.

Delhi Police sent Sushil Kumar to Tihar Jail No. 2. According to the jail administration, this is a routine process. Sources say this is done for security reasons.

Sushil Kumar and his associates are accused of abducting Sagar from his house in Model Town. The intention was to teach him a lesson for bad-mouthing him in front of other wrestlers, police had said. Sushil even told a guy named Prince to make a video of the incident. He wanted the video to go viral in his community so that nobody else dares to offend the veteran wrestler.

Dhankar was the son of a Delhi Police constable and trained at the stadium. On May 4 at midnight, a brawl between him and a few men including Kumar took place in Chhatrasal Stadium. Sagar died on May 5 because of the injuries he sustained in the brawl.

Wrestler Sagar died and two of his friends were injured after they were allegedly assaulted by Kumar and others.

Delhi court had extended Kumar’s judicial custody till June 25 in connection with the case. The two-time Olympic medallist faces charges of murder, culpable homicide, and kidnapping.

Police also say Kumar is the “main culprit and mastermind” behind the alleged murder. The police also added they have electronic evidence in which he and his associates could be seen beating Dhankar. On May 31, police had suspended Kumar’s arms license.
