Sunayna Sara Kuruvilla stormed into the semi-finals of the event with an easy victory over Sri Lanka’s Chanithma Sinaly by 3-0 (11-3, 11-2, and 11-2). Sunayna will face Pakistan’s Faiza Zafar in her plate Semi-final encounter and will hope to reach the final of the event.

The 23-year-old won the Silver medal in Women’s team squash event in the Asian Games, 2018. With a highest ranking of 67, Sunayna is currently one of the top squash players from India. She took up the sport for the first time when she was nine years old. She then represented India at Junior World Championships 2015 and Asian Junior Championship. She brought laurels to the nation, winning the Gold in the team event at the South Asian Games 2019.
