Brazilian teenager Rayssa Leal captured her maiden SLS Super Crown Championships 2022 on Sunday at Rio’s Olympic Park, continuing her ascent to the top of the women’s street skateboarding circuit on 6 November, 2022. The 14-year-old Brazilian managed to achieve a tremendous overall score of 21.1 on her home course by combining spectacular stunts with smart planning. With this most recent triumph, she has now won all four of this year’s SLS street skating competitions. She had previously won the  Jacksonville, Seattle and Las Vegas legs. Leal was joined on the podium by Japan’s Nakayama Funa (20.8) and compatriot Nishiya Momiji (19.2) who finished second and third respectively.

In the men’s field, Portuguese skater Gustavo Ribeiro was in great form, flying and spinning his way to a commanding victory (6 November). In the four-man super final, he narrowly defeated American Street League rookie Braden Hoban thanks to his outstanding performance, which netted him four 9+ scores on the evening (on the circuit and in the single-trick section). His final trick garnered him a 9.3 which was enough to produce a top victory. Third-placed Chris Joslin of the United States matched his previous best street league finish thanks to some powerful backside big flips.
