Saurav Ghosal advanced to the Semi-final of Men’s singles by defeating Scotland’s Greg Lobbon by 3-1. Saurav recovered from a defeat in the second set and beat the Scottish opponent 11-5, 8-11, 11-7, and 11-3. India’s no.1 squash player will be targeting his first Gold medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022.

Saurav has won numerous medals at the Asian Games including one Gold, one Silver, and five Bronze medals. In Gold Coast, Saurav won the silver alongside Dipika Pallikal in the Mixed doubles. He was honored with the Arjuna Award in 2007, after winning a Bronze in Asian Games 2006. In 2013, he became the first Indian to reach the QF of the World Squash Championship in Manchester, England. Saurav was named the Professional Squash Association Men’s President in 2021.
