Under the “Tous aux Jeux” program, which aims to make the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris 2024 accessible to everyone. French authorities will hand out free tickets for the events. An estimated 100,000 Olympic tickets will be distributed through “une Billetterie Populaire” (People’s Ticket Office). Whereas an additional 300,000 Paralympic tickets are anticipated to be made available.

Around €11 million (£9 point 6 million/$12 million) is the estimated cost of the project for the French government. The 100,000 tickets will be distributed to sports volunteers. Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, minister of the Olympics and Sports, stated that “usually the state should offer them something.” “Sports continue because of them, and they donate their free time to the neighborhood.”

Seventy thousand of the tickets are anticipated to be distributed via federations, whether they are connected to the National Olympic Committee or endorsed by Paris 2024 or the Ministry of Sport. Primary, secondary, and high school students are anticipated to receive an additional 260,000. Whereas 60,000 of these will be used for the Olympics and the remaining for the Paralympics.

In accordance with the national “inclusive clubs” program, funding will also be given to organizations that support accessibility for people with disabilities. Additional 24,000 tickets will be held for those employed in the legal, medical, and administrative fields. The Sports Ministry continued, “This is to thank everyone who helped make this event a success and to show our appreciation for their efforts.”

System to issue tickets

Local governments are establishing their systems for issuing tickets. 20,000 Olympic and 30,000 Paralympic tickets are anticipated to be given away by the City of Paris to young people, athletes, city officials, and volunteers for the Games.

There will be 16,000 tickets for the Olympics and 24,000 for the Paralympics in Seine-Saint-Denis, it is anticipated. The organizing committee intends to provide 4,000. Meanwhile, 50,000 tickets are expected to cost the Ile de France region €3.5 million (£3.06 million/$3.82 million). 35,000 of these are anticipated to be given out for the Olympics.

In addition to the 8,000 tickets provided by Paris 2024, the Plaine Commune region, which includes Saint-Denis, plans to purchase an additional 22,000 tickets. These will also be given out to students, athletes, and weaker members of society.

The scheme’s ticket distribution is anticipated to be finished by the spring of 2024, at the latest. The first round of public ticket sales for Paris 2024 is now over, allowing fans to put together game packs for three sports. Many of the tickets were criticized as being too expensive by the organizers.
