British equestrian sensation Yasmin Ingham with horse Banzai Du Loir pulled off an incredible upset to win the solo title at the FEI Eventing World Championships 2022 on September 18, 2022. She scored a combined total of 23.2 to take home the yellow medal in her first-ever world championships appearance. Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Julia Krajewski of Germany had to settle with the silver, while New Zealand’s Tim Price clinched the bronze. The 25-year-old Yasmin became the sixth world champion from Britain after Rosalind Canter, Zara Philips, Virginia Leng, Lucinda Green, and Mary Gordon-Watson.

In the team event, Germany won for the first time in 20 years with a score of 95.2. The USA secured the second position with a total of 100.3. New Zealand (100.7) stunned everyone in the competition to claim the bronze medal. Great Britain, the defending team champion, finished fourth with a score of 100.9.

Tokyo Olympian Fouaad Mirza from India finished 50th overall after competition of Dressage, Cross-country, and Jumping rounds. Mirza, riding on Seigneur Medicott, finished 32nd in Dressage, 49th in Cross Country, and 58th in Jumping, earning 79.3 points. Earlier, in the first day, Mirza (30.1) broke the national record in the dressage set by Imtiaz Anees and his horse Spring Invader of 39.6 at Jerez de la Frontera in Spain.
