The match between the Washington Capitals and Vancouver Canucks will take place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., United States on Monday, October 17 at 7:00 PM ET.
The Vancouver Canucks will travel to the Capital One Arena to take on the Washington Capitals in an NHL game on Monday. Washington won their last game 3-1 against the Montreal Canadiens courtesy of goals from TJ Oshie, Anthony Mantha and Conor Sheary. Nick Suzuki scored the solitary goal for Montreal.
JT Oshie said after the game, “After two games like that, it is a way to tell the guys, ‘Hey, it is time to get going.’ We have a certain standard that we need to play up to, live up to here, and we weren’t doing that in the first two games. We need to keep pushing that standard as the season goes and roll those things over. But definitely when the lines get mixed around, you come to the rink a little more focused than maybe you would otherwise.”
On the other hand, the Vancouver Canucks lost their last game 3-2 against the Philadelphia Flyers. Kyle Burroughs and Conor Garland scored the goals from Vancouver in what turned out to be a close loss. Goaltender Thatcher Demko saved 28 of the 31 shots he was peppered with and finished the game with a save percentage of .903.
Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau spoke after the game and pointed out where his team should improve. Bruce said, “We were 0-for-5 on the power play and they were 1-for-5 on the power play and they score and they scored a shorthanded goal. That’s the difference in the game. If we don’t sure that up, we’re going to be in trouble.”
