The Philadelphia Flyers will play the Vegas Golden Knights in a cross-conference matchup at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Friday, December 9, 2022. The puck drop is scheduled at 10:00 PM ET. This season’s first meeting between these two rivals saw the Flyers unexpectedly defeat the Golden Knights in a rout. Vegas is the clear favorite at home.
This past Wednesday, the Philadelphia Flyers lost 4-1 to the Washington Capitals, capping a five-game homestand with a 2-3-0 record. The Flyers blew a 1-0 first-period lead two days after defeating the Colorado Avalanche 5-3 as underdogs. The Capitals scored four goals without a reply, two of them into empty nets.
Last Wednesday marked the start of a three-game homestand for the Vegas Golden Knights, who were unable to extend their winning streak to three games. The Golden Knights lost badly to the New York Rangers 5-1 after picking up road victories over the Detroit Red Wings (4-1) and Boston Bruins (4-3 in a shootout). In the second period, Jonathan Marchessault scored on a power play to knot the score at one, but Vegas gave up four goals in a row to lose the game.
