The match between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators will take place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada on Saturday, October 15 at 7:00 PM ET.
The Toronto Maple Leafs will welcome the Ottawa Senators to the Scotiabank Arena for an NHL game on Saturday. Toronto won their last game 3-2 against the Washington Capitals with goals from Calle Jarnkrok, Auston Matthews and John Tavares sealing the deal. Goaltender Ilya Samsonov saved 24 of the 26 shots he was peppered with and finished the game with a save percentage of .923.
Toronto coach Sheldon Keefe was disappointed as his team lost their first game against the Montreal Canadiens. After the game, he said that he had a chat with his team and lauded his team for responding well. Keefe said, “We had a frank discussion this morning. The guys responded really well.”
On the other hand, the Ottawa Senators lost their first game of the season 4-1 against the Buffalo Sabres. Brady Tkachuk was the only goal scorer for the Ottawa outfit in what was a truly underwhelming game.
Senators head coach DJ Smith spoke after the game and said, “We got to score on the power play, which has been real good for us but tonight wasn’t. Execution. I think the guys wanted it too much probably and just were squeezing maybe. Didn’t go in the net. But there was plenty of chances there, just doesn’t go in.”
