The match between the San Jose Sharks vs Anaheim Ducks will take place at SAP Center in San Jose on Tuesday, September 27 at 10:30 PM ET.
San Jose Sharks will host the Anaheim Ducks at SAP Center in San Jose for an NHL preseason game on Tuesday. San Jose Sharks general manager Mike Grier confirmed this afternoon that 14 players have been released from the team’s training camp following last night’s preseason victory over the Los Angeles Kings. Four of those 14 athletes were signed up on an amateur tryout agreement (ATO), and they will be sent back to their junior club. Seven players were sent to the San Jose Barracuda’s AHL training camp, and three more Sharks prospects were sent back to their respective junior teams.
The Ducks have seen a number of prospects make the club out of training camp, play in a few games, and then get demoted throughout the course of several seasons. Prior to returning to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), Max Comtois played in the first 10 games of the 2018–19 season, and McTavish participated in nine games for the Ducks the previous year before joining the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
The quantity of youthful talent on the Ducks is promising, and the team won’t need to rebuild forever. Not among the upcoming draught classes, but at training camp right now, is the core of the next great team. As more veterans depart the locker room and the young players mature into veterans, this season may bring about some growing pains for the squad. Even if this season isn’t the most successful, it should still be enjoyable.
