The match between the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs will take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada on Wednesday, October 12 at 7:00 PM ET.
The Montreal Canadiens will welcome the Toronto Maple Leafs to the Bell Centre for an NHL game on Wednesday. Montreal had a very bad preseason as they lost all their six games and did not find a way to win. They will look to put that behind them as they would want to start off on a clean note.
Despite their preseason struggles, Brendan Gallagher had words of wisdom and encouragement for all the players that will make their debut. Gallagher said, “Enjoy it. Everyone remembers your first game. Once the puck drops, I am sure they’ll settle in and it is always more fun when you win. So do what you can to be a good player, contribute to your team’s success and hopefully we can find a way to start the season off right. But it is a dream come true for those kids, so they should try and make it a good memory.”
The Toronto Maple Leafs on the other hand had a 5-2 record in preseason and defeated the Detroit Red Wings in their last game. Two goals each from Auston Matthews and William Nylander and one from Denis Malgin was enough to dispatch Detroit.
Auston Matthews was full of praise for Denis Malgin as he made a very strong case to be involved from the start in the game against Montreal. Referring to Malgin’s goal, Auston said, “Crispy. That was nice. Man, he’s looked unbelievable in camp and not just his confidence, he has been strong out there. It’s been a lot of fun to watch.”
