The Columbus Blue Jackets will take on the Montreal Canadiens at Nationwide Arena in the NHL on Thursday. Columbus won their last game in thrilling fashion as they beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-4 in overtime. Boone Jenner scored two goals while Vladislav Gavrikov, Eric Robinson and Sean Kuraly scored one goal each in what was a thrilling match.
Blue Jackets coach Brad Larsen said after the game, “They’re playing hard. We lost ourselves a bit in the second period there, especially the last 10-12 minutes, but we got ourselves together. The guys are giving it. They’re playing hard.”
The Montreal Canadiens on the other hand lost their last match resoundingly as they were beaten 5-1 by the New Jersey Devils. Evgenii Dadonov was the only Canadiens player to score a goal as his teammates were not able to get past Vitek Vanecek in the New Jersey goal.
Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis spoke after the game and said, “They really showed their speed and their execution in that second period. It’s no coincidence that they’ve won 10 in a row and it’s a good test for us to take on, even if we didn’t get a good grade. There’s a lesson in everything and there’s definitely a lesson in this game, so we’ll have to go and find some answers in it.”
