Columbus Blue Jackets will take on the Dallas Stars in the NHL matchup on Monday night. The Blue Jackets have just three games left before the Christmas break, and only one, tonight’s game against Dallas, will take place at the friendly Nationwide Arena. It’s the only home game in his pre-holiday six-game stretch that began last week with a winless trip against Eastern Conference contenders Florida, Tampa Bay, and Boston.
The Blue Jackets faced the top three teams in the conference on their most recent trip. Although the final score he was 12 to 3 in favor of the home side, Columbus felt they were playing pretty good hockey. Several goalposts were hit, creating opportunities in the first loss to Florida. Meanwhile, the Jackets went deep into games against Tampa Bay and Boston but were put out of reach by these experienced teams in the final minutes. That’s kind of the difference between the team that went there and did it, and Columbus, who has dressed seven players in less than 100 NHL games and is still trying to find a way.

As these young players gain experience, there are some things to build for the future, but that doesn’t make it easier to survive the present. Head coach Brad Larsen said, “We’ve had a lot of good times here in a few games, so I’m very disappointed in them.”There are some moments that hurt us. That’s the frustrating part. Investing a lot in these games doesn’t pay off.”
