Both clubs are attempting to capitalize on promising beginnings to the season as they take against the Seattle Kraken and Winnipeg Jets, respectively. The Kraken is in third place in the Pacific Division with a record of 16-10-3, while the Jets are close to the top of the Central Division with a record of 19-9-1. The upcoming game should be a good one since both teams want to stay at the top of their divisions and the Western Conference.
With their offense moving up and averaging 3.31 goals per game, the Jets are having a fantastic season. The top line is led by Kyle Connor and Pierre-Luc Dubois, who have combined for 26 goals and 36 assists, but the rest of the attack has also been excellent. Defensemen Josh Morrissey and Neal Pionk contributed nine goals and 37 assists from the point, bringing the offense to a dominating 34 goals and 37 assists from Blake Wheeler, Mark Scheifele, and Adam Lowry.
With their offense ramping up and averaging 3.45 goals per game, the Kraken is off to a good start to the season. The top two lines, Andre Burakovsky, Jordan Eberle, and Matthew Beniers, have combined for 28 goals and 46 assists, but the whole attack has improved. While defenseman Vince Dunn and Justin Schultz added seven goals and 25 assists from the point to help open up the offense, Jared McCann, Yanni Gourde, and Daniel Sprong have combined for 24 goals and 29 assists.
