The Buffalo Sabres will welcome the Vegas Golden Knights to the KeyBank Center for an NHL game on Thursday. The Sabres fell to a heavy 4-1 defeat to the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday. Tage Thompson was the lone scorer in what was a losing effort for the team out of Buffalo.
Sabres coach Don Granato said after the match, “Their first three goals went off of us, and don’t be fooled by us. We didn’t play hard enough in the areas we need to play hard. We were too slow that we hit goal posts. Their goalie played real well. But the bottom line is we could’ve won a game but we didn’t go attack a game like we needed to.”
The Vegas Golden Knights edged out a slim 4-3 victory over the Toronto Maple Leaf on Tuesday. Reilly Smith scored a brace for the Golden Knights while Jack Eichel and Nicolas Roy chipped in with a goal a piece.
After the match, Reilly Smith said, “Enjoying every minute of it. We’re rolling with the punches and finding ways to win.”
