The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Los Angeles Chargers at the Arrowhead Stadium for an NFL game on Thursday. The Chiefs have an overall season record of 1-0 and come into this game on the back of a 44-21 win over the Arizona Cardinals in their last game. Star man Patrick Mahomes completed 30 of his 39 passes and completed 360 yards and had five touchdown passes. Running back Isiah Pacheco ran for 62 yards and recorded one touchdown while Travis Kelce, Mecole Hardman and Jody Fortson also scored one touchdown each.
After the game, an elated Mahomes issued a rallying cry to his team and said that they can win the Super Bowl. Mahomes said, “I’m just a guy from Texas Tech they said couldn’t play in the NFL. I’ve always had that mindset of proving we’re the Kansas City Chiefs, we still can win the AFC Championship, win the AFC West and win the Super Bowl. We always believed we were going to go out there and put on a show. Guys did that.”
On the other hand, the Los Angeles Chargers have a season record of 1-0 and sit at the top of the AFC West table after defeating the Las Vegas Raiders 24-19 in the last game. Quarterback Justin Herbert completed 26 of his 34 passes and completed 279 yards and had three touchdown passes. DeAndre Carter, Gerald Everett and Alexander Horvath recorded one touchdown each in what was a good showing.
Herbert, who had an amazing game for the Chargers, lauded his team’s defense and said, “I thought the defense played really well throughout the game. They came up with some big plays when we needed it the most. I think a great thing that we do is we’re able to shuffle guys around and play multiple positions. We had some receivers step up.”
