Indianapolis Colts vs Detroit Lions will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in an NFL preseason game on Saturday. The Colts come into this game on the back of a 27-24 loss to the Buffalo Bills last week. Quarterback Nick Foles passed for 72 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Last season, they averaged 347.1 yards on offence and 343.2 yards gave up on defence.
Jelani Woods, Ty’Son Williams and Michael Jacobson had one touchdown each as the Colts narrowly lost out to the Bills. Matt Ryan filled in admirably in the absence of Von Miller and Colts coach Frank Reich was very happy about it. After the game, he said, “I thought he looked poised in the pocket. I thought he looked accurate. Thought every throw was pretty much right where it needed to be. I expected to see him do that, and he certainly delivered.”
On the other hand, the Lions come into this game on the back of a 27-23 loss to the Atlanta Falcons last week. Quarterback Tim Boyle passed for 111 yards with one touchdown and one interception while David Blough passed for 141 yards in what was a good outing. Running back D’Andre Swift had one touchdown and ran for 20 yards.
Tight end Devin Funchess received the ball four times and recorded one touchdown and ran for 19 yards. Lions coach Dan Campbell was impressed with what he saw and said after the game, “We certainly wish we could have finished that off, but we did get a good look at our guys in different situations. I was pleased with the way our offence started the game.”
