The Texans come into this game on the back of a 17-0 win over the San Francisco 49ers in their last preseason game. Quarterback Davis Mills passed for 58 yards and had one touchdown pass and one interception while Kyle Allen passed for 36 yards. Running back Dameon Pierce rushed for 37 yards and recorded one touchdown and wide receiver Chris Moore ran for 35 yards and scored one touchdown.

Houston head coach Lovie Smith praised Dameon Pierce after the game and said, “Dameon Pierce has been that way every time we’ve given him the ball. He’s a very good football player.” He also noted that there is still a long way to go for his team. “We have a long way to go still, but when you keep score, of course, you want to score points as often as you can. And defensively, whenever you can get a shutout, that’s big”, said Smith.

On the other hand, the Colts come into this game on the back of a 27-10 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their last game. Quarterback Sam Ehlinger passed for 65 yards and recorded a touchdown when he rushed for 45 yards. The other quarterback Matt Ryan and Nick Foles passed for 59 and 24 yards respectively. Running back Phillip Lindsay and Deon Jackson also recorded a touchdown.

Indianapolis coach Frank Reich spoke to the press after the game and said that he was happy that the preseason went well for his team. He said, “Good finish to the preseason. We wanted to come in here and accomplish some things. We saw some things we wanted to see, got guys out.”
