The Denver Broncos will take on the Houston Texans Empower Field for an NFL game on Sunday. The Broncos come into this game on the back of a 17-16 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in their opening game of the season. Quarterback Russell Wilson passed for 340 yards and had one touchdown pass as he completed 29 of his 42 passes. Wide receiver Jerry Jeudy ran for 102 yards and recorded one touchdown while placekicker Brandon McManus converted three field goals and scored 10 points for Denver.
Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett said after the game, “I wish we would have gotten a lot closer, but it put us in that weird spot there because we were in field-goal range, but we were on that fourth-down situation. I didn’t think we were gonna get that many yards. We just made our decision and wanted to take our shot there.”
On the other hand, the Houston Texans come into this game on the back of a 20-20 tie with the Indianapolis Colts in their last game. Davis Mills passed for 240 yards and had two touchdown passes as he completed 23 of his 37 passes. Tight end OJ Howard ran for 38 yards and scored two touchdowns while Ka’imi Fairbairn scored 8 points as he converted both his field goals.
Texans linebacker Christian Kirksey rued the fact that his team could not capitalize on the good work they did at the beginning of the match. Speaking after the game, Kirksey said, “Obviously we didn’t lose the game, but it kind of feels that way since we were up, we were doing so many good things in the beginning and then they came back.”Â
