The Panthers come into this game on the back of a 21-0 win over the Buffalo Bills in their last preseason game. Quarterback Baker Mayfield passed for 89 yards and had two touchdown passes while Philip Walker and Sam Darnold passed for 50 and 49 yards respectively.
Mayfield had a good game as the Panthers scored two touchdowns from his plays. After the game, Mayfield said, “I’m just getting started within the offense, but I I feel comfortable with the knowledge of it. Now it is just the matter of going out and seeing it and putting into action. It’s about chemistry and being on the same page. Now you just have to go out and do and pull the trigger in a live game.”
On the other hand, the Browns come into this game on the back of a 21-20 loss to the Chicago Bears in their last game. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett passed for 109 yards and had one interception while Joshua Dobbs passed for 89 yards and had one touchdown pass. Josh Rosen passed for 42 yards and scored a touchdown while tight end Miller Forristall scored one touchdown.
Brissett, who passed for 109 yards by completing 13 passes, said after the game, “I thought today was a step in the right direction. Obviously we’ve got more time coming up in the next two weeks. But today was definitely a good stepping stone, getting in and out of the huddle, calling plays, hearing it from Kevin. I thought today was good.”
