The Atlanta Hawks are hosting the Cleveland Cavaliers in a big Eastern Conference match-up tonight at State Farm Arena. The Cavs have been killing it this NBA season, currently sitting pretty in third place in the Eastern Conference standings.

The Hawks have had their ups and downs, but they’re still gunning for a spot in the playoffs. Cleveland has been on a winning streak against them this season, taking all three matchups, including the last one in Atlanta. They’re looking to complete the season sweep tonight.

The Cavs have been low-key all season, and even though they’re holding onto third place in the Eastern Conference, they’ve got a lot to show on the court.

Just a couple of seasons ago, the Hawks were tearing it up, making it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals. But now, they’re sweating it out, unsure if they’ll even make the playoffs.

Injury report

Key matchups

The Cavs had a tough loss at home last game, but before that, they were on fire, winning three out of four games. When they’re away, they’ve got a solid 19-10 record, and knowing they’ve dominated this series against the Hawks gives them a confidence boost. Sure, they’ve had some injury setbacks, but so have the Hawks. Despite that, they’re still going into this game expecting a win. They’ve got a nice home stretch coming up, so getting back on track with a win here would be perfect before heading back.

Cleveland’s offense has been stepping it up lately, but with a bunch of key scorers out, it’s gonna be a challenge to see where they’ll get their points from. Luckily, Atlanta’s defense isn’t exactly top-notch, so that might work in Cleveland’s favor.

The Hawks have been struggling to win at State Farm Arena this season, but that’s gotta change. Looking at the upcoming schedule, it seems like they’ve got some games they can definitely win. Getting a win in this one could really set the tone for them to climb up the standings.

Just like the Cavs, the Hawks are dealing with their fair share of injuries. Trae Young is out for the whole month with a finger injury, and Onyeka Okongwu is joining him on the sidelines. Even though the other three injured players aren’t starters, it still might sting a bit in this game.
