Approaching the conclusion of their homestand, the Boston Celtics are poised to take on the Atlanta Hawks with the aim of enhancing their current 3-2 record to 4-2.

The Celtics kicked off their homestand with a disappointing 115-96 defeat against the Los Angeles Clippers. However, they have managed to secure victories in three out of their four subsequent games.

Despite facing the Los Angeles Lakers without LeBron James or Anthony Davis, resulting in a 114-105 loss on Thursday, the Celtics bounced back strongly. They bolstered their impressive home record to 23-3 by dominating a depleted Memphis team with a resounding 131-91 victory on Sunday.

Injury report

For the Hawks, Capela will not be playing the game due to a thigh injury. Besides, Gueye (back injury) and Krejci (shoulder injury) might not be available for the game. As for the Celtics, Brown is questionable for the game due to a back injury.

Key matchups

Boston was without Jaylen Brown due to lower back tightness, and the team opted to rest four of its starters for the entirety of the fourth quarter. The Hawks saw their four-game winning streak come to an end with a 149-144 loss to the visiting Clippers on Monday. Despite Atlanta’s impressive 20-of-39 shooting from beyond the arc, Los Angeles managed to outshine them by going 21-of-35 from deep.

De’Andre Hunter of Atlanta came off the bench and dropped 27 points. He had to sit out 19 games due to a non-surgical procedure on his right knee and has been on a limited minutes plan since he came back on Jan. 30. He only saw action for two minutes in the fourth quarter and played a total of 19 minutes in the game.

Trae Young chipped in 25 points for the Hawks, who were missing center Clint Capela due to a left adductor strain. Capela sustained the injury during Saturday’s win against the Golden State Warriors and is anticipated to be sidelined for a minimum of seven to 10 days.

Atlanta has hosted its last six games consecutively. Wednesday’s game will mark the second face-off between the Hawks and Celtics this season. Back on November 26th, Boston took the win with 34 points from Tatum, securing a 113-103 victory on their home turf. Notably, the Celtics were without Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday due to injuries during that game.

Leading the charge for the Hawks, Trae Young, who’s averaging a team-high 27.3 points per game, dominated with 33 points and seven assists.
