“My son lived in America, but there wasn’t much cricket there anyway. I gave my children the right to live the life they wanted. If he wants to be a fighter, he has to do it,” Akram told Cricket Pakistan. Akram, who took 414 wickets in 104 Tests for Pakistan last year, revealed he was addicted to cocaine. He said he started using cocaine while working as a television critic around the world.

“South Asian fame culture is all-consuming, glamorous, and depraved. In one night he can go to 10 parties. And it hit me. Huma’s last selfless and unconscious act cured my drug problem. That way of life is over and I have no regrets,” he quoted BBC.co.uk as Akram told his The Times.
